Does it matter that Jonathan Safran Foer isn’t Vegan?

Wow so the guy featured in my post here Jonathan Safran Foer, author of “Eating Animals,” ISN’T VEGAN! Crazy! He just wrote a book talking about how bad the meat industry is, and how if you should give up anything you should give up eggs first, but I just learned from reading this post on supervegan.com that he isn’t vegan! He’s barely vegetarian! Apparently he “dabbles” in the veg lifestyle from time to time, but not all the time.

The question on supervegan.com was, but does it matter? To me, he is getting the issue out there, in a non-preaching way, and getting a bigger audience than PETA or any of us other crazy Veggies have so far, so good for him.

Josh Hooten, who runs the Herbivore Clothing Company and publishes the vegetarian magazine Herbivore, said:

“The fact that he hasn’t completely gone vegan yet seems trivial to me considering how short of a time he’s had this information, how he is coming from outside of the Animal Rights community, and how despite those two things he is writing article after article and on a speaking tour perhaps reaching more people than all of us combined ever will.”

Read this post and let me know what YOU think. Does it matter that he’s not vegan?
